Health Benefits Of Turmeric, Honey, Ginger, Green Tea

Ingredients like Turmeric, Green Tea, Honey, and Ginger are found in every household. We usually let these things rot/expire in our pantry. Oly, if you all knew the health benefits that all these natural products carry, you would have not even once thought about letting them expire.

We always rush to the hospital towards the tiniest health problems. Most probably because we aren’t aware of the health benefits of the herbal/natural products widely available; if you are a couch potato like most of us and can’t rush to the store, just order them all online. Now that should not take up much of your energy. Because all of us mostly are on our phones or laptops most of the time anyway. Even groceries are a click away. How utterly convenient is that. Furthermore, that also saves you the cost of fuel.

Turmeric is highly used in Asian countries like India and Pakistan. People there mostly use it to enhance the flavor of their dishes, especially their curries. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, which is also present in other herbs as well. Curcumin is mainly responsible for curing health problems. Not more than a teaspoon full of turmeric is used in the dishes, which is not enough for our bodies.

Now, how much turmeric is too much? Well, A human body requires 500-2000 mg of curcumin turmeric a day in order for curcumin to cure a health problem. Therefore consider taking other herbs and spices like black pepper that contain curcumin throughout the day along with turmeric. Turmeric is very good for your heart’s health. It can protect your heart against hazardous diseases, and curcumin reduces the risk of a heart attack. Ther than that turmeric is very good for your memory. It can boost up your memory; therefore, before going for a test, take a whiff of turmeric, and you are good to go. Furthermore, turmeric contains anti-inflammatory properties. So it is perfect for patients with arthritis as it can help reduce arthritis induced pains. Patients can just take turmeric pills if that is more convenient for them. 

Honey

Now, honey, we all know. It’s a sweet, thick liquid produced by honey bees after collecting the nectar of flowers. So we all know it is natural with zero chemicals and sugars mixed in.

Honey is a natural antibiotic. Mothers feed it to their kids when they are having a cold or a sore throat. With a hint of black pepper or turmeric on top of a teaspoon full of honey is basically a cherry on top. Other than that, honey contains anti-inflammatory properties. These include organic acids and phenolic compounds like flavonoids.

Honey also contains healing properties and is incredibly very good for your burns. If you get a burn, just put some honey on it, and you are good to go. Furthermore, you can use honey as a substitute for sugar. People who have diabetes can use honey without the fear of it, causing it to shoot high. However, be careful about the intake of honey as well if you have diabetes. As it is understood, nothing too much is right for your health. Therefore, refrain from consuming too much.

Another factor that plays a crucial role in inducing heart disease is high cholesterol level, and love can also balance your cholesterol levels.

Ginger has a long history of incorporation in alternative and traditional medicine. Most Asian countries use ginger for its unique medicinal properties that can aid in digestion, reduce nausea, diarrhea, and help fight the flu, just to name a few. 

Ginger gets its amazing properties from its natural oils. The most significant of them is gingerol. It is the key bioactive compound in ginger that provides ginger its healthy properties. Gingerol is a potent antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory. Research suggests that gingerol is vital for reducing oxidative stress due to the excess of free radicals in our bodies. Its anti-inflammatory properties can help prevent diseases such as chronic inflammation and osteoarthritis. Ginger can reduce the pain and disability caused due to arthritis and stops the degeneration of joints.

Green Tea 

Green tea is famously called the healthiest beverage known to mankind. It is filled with antioxidants that have many health benefits, such as:

  • lowering the risk of heart disease

Green tea contains an essential amino acid called L-theanine. L-theanine is excellent for reducing anxiety and increases the production of dopamine and alpha waves in our brains. Dopamine is the chemical responsible for the feeling of happiness. The warm beverage’s first sips already leave us with such a comfortable and warm feeling that we often don’t think about the actual thing that induces this effect.
